Damn it feels good to be a Banker - You are so WACC

Damn it feels good to be a banker
A real banker-first year does his comps right
A real banker-second always spends his first bonus
Cuz real banker-thirds don’t stay the night
And staffers always lookin for some cap
Tellin all the seniors that he got em
But banker anals and asses don’t say no
Cuz real junior bankers always got some
And everythings cells in the mind of a banker
Cuz banker modelers think excel
M&A, LBO hit F9
Cuz real banker twentry three’rs dont sleep

And all I gotta say to you
Wannabe, gonnabe, speculatin, gucci-wearin traders
Cuz when the market dies down what the f*** you gonna do
Damn it feels good to be a banker

Damn it feels good to be a banker,
A lazy summer means you’re spending mad bills,
Although I got an offer from Goldman,
Now I’m with the Mother makin’ dealz,
Damn it feels good to be a banker,
I mean one that the staffer doesn’t know,
Walking tall, feelin’ bougie in my new Hermes,
Which I got in the Shops with my dough.
Now a banker’s fine warddrobe comes in all styles and colorz,
But not on Monday, don’t think too fast,
‘Cause you’d better be in white, unless your name is Colo,
‘Cause I-B-K H-O-U has class.

Now all I gotta say to you
Wannabe, gonnabe, gucci-wearing, speculatin traders,
When Thain drops the axe, what the f*** you gonna do,
Damn it feels good to be a banker.

Hope Springs Eternal

Every year the the seasons change. But not since 1995 has there been a year in which I am more optimistic about the harvest that will come to get us through the upcoming winter. Yes, I am talking about the seeds we have planted in the Dallas Cowboys organization and taking it to the ship in '09. This year da Boys came in with two FIRST round picks, 22 and 28 overall. And although we have a loaded team, that lost narrowly to the eventual super bowl champs in the playoffs, you can always use more talented youngsters on your squad. A breakdown:
  • 22nd pick - Felix "Barney" Jones (RB, Arkansas) - At first glance you are mad at this pick because you say, why didnt they take Rashard "Muscles" Mendenhall (muscles - not sure if this man has ever done a bicep curl) ? He was, by most accounts, the 2nd RB on most peoples boards behind D-Mac and not expected to be available. Although upon further inspection you realize that FJ did average over 8 yds per carry in the dam SEC and was considered the "Lightning" if the aforementioned D-Mac was "thunder" at Arkansas (though D-Mac was probably closer to being the whole "storm"). Regardless, the man has quick lateral movement and breakaway speed, a tremendous complement to Marion the Barbarian in the backfield.
    • Don't realize why they didn't trade the 22nd pick to Detroit for former Longhorn and my former hallmate Roy Williams. The Lions needed a premier RB in the worst way and wanted to unload Roy before his contract was up after this year and is worthless to them.

  • 25th pick - Mike Jenkins (CB, USF) - Hits like a rock and covers like paper. This was the top rated CB on the Cowboys draftboard. Pair him with Newman, Henry, and potentially Pacman and you have a secondary that can line up and shutdown across the board. This is actually the only person I really wanted us to draft. Go get you some rations!!
    • He gets #31 as Roy is switching to #38.

  • 61st - Martellus Bennett (TE, didnt goto a real school) - So we traded away Fasano (a recent 2nd round TE pick) along with Ayodele, picked up a 4th rounder and then draft this guy. I dont get it. He is a two sport player who draws similarities to some TE in San Diego. But his charecter/intelligence AUTOMATICALLY come into question after you find out where he spent the last three years of his life...

  • 122nd - Tashard Choice (RB, GTech) - So tough to tackle and you can't question his work ethic/ heart after watching the most INSPIRATIONAL pregame speech I have ever seen. Im now ready to fight, fall down, bleed some, and fight again!
    • Dude was competing with AD at OU for PT and then decided everyone in Oklahoma is an idiot so went to Gtech where he triple majored and was an academic honor roll member for two years.
    • OK, so Marion the Barbarian wants 60 MM and we are offering 30, think that had anything to do with us spending two picks on young quality RBs?
Ok, time to stop as my blogging/writing high is wearing off. But basically we didnt get a WR, so we are essentially banking on TGlenn to be solid again, which I fully expect him to do. I can also see Sam Hurd stepping up in a big way next year, or who knows, maybe we somehow swing a deal for one of the big 3 WR on the trading blocks (Roy, Anquan, Ocho). Love our draft simply because we got Jenkins. We also got another corner from Boise State and a yes ANOTHER OLB/DE from some school in Tennessee. We made a flurry of trades in the later rounds, but basically just netted extra picks for next year, boo yakasha! We were stacked at basically every position so had the ability to draft the best available player, keep that in mind.

Every season brings new hope for me, and hopefully the seeds we plant ed this year will bear a fruit called Lombardi.

BE INSPIRED AGAIN (It's Ok to Cry)

On the way home from work in downtown i saw this dude sans shoes, taking a straight deuce deuce in a trashcan...and people were around him just kind of perplexed! but the expression on this guys face was one of straight serenity.. How far has this man must have come from not being self-conscious of what other people thought. So I wondered who was better off- that girl who takes 100 pictures with arm awkwardly outstretched only to pick a perfect one for facebook then to post that she "gnawin on a bone, not given a f***" or that guy who needs to wake up 15 minutes early to gel his hair each morning so he can get that perfect look like he just woke up? We all care so much about how this twisted world views us and here is a man just doing what he does without a care in the world and smiling. So lets all just drop the act and drop our pants! (maybe not to that extent but maybe you get where im coming from)

It also answered my question where homeless ppl do there business...

on a side note, holla at my boy!!

I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death

NY state of mind? nah not me. When everyone says that illmatic is the greatest nasir jones album of all time, i have a difficult time disagreeing. Lyrically it's just unmatched. its like 'the godfather' - where you watch it and you cant say it wasnt great afterwards... BUT when your boys come over and want to watch a flick, you more often than not put in 'dont be a menace'. This is that sort of album...I implore you to check out an album that received far less acclaim, "it was written". this is your juice. this album kinda has a self-conscious attitude about it. with "i gave you power" (nas loves those metaphor songs) you can tell the the qb king still has the most creative/sicke prose that created so much buzz the first time. but then he jams with lauryn hill and it sounds amazing, and you hear him making songs with dre - you see he can be funky/west coast and sound good doing it. 'the message' even samples illmatic's most popular song - ny state of mind in the chorus with "I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death" and it shows he hasn't forgot about his first debut album to receive 5 mics, hes just seeing what else he can do. A mix between east and west in the mid 90s this album definitely didnt leave my car for awhile. Sandwiched between ill and still, please check out what was written.
